Happy Easter

Look what I found!

Any family event is happier with some little ones around. We planted an apple tree for Granny who died in February and celebrated the spring family birthdays but most of all spent some special time together, building our future as a family.

Cumbria Crystal

Had a really interesting time over at Cumbria Crystal taking some stills and some video recently

It was really fascinating and very hot. The  guys there make it look really easy they are so skilled. It’s almost like watching a ballet the way they pass the piece between each other to move from one process to the next. They have just launched their new range SIX which is so beautiful. The launch event was afternoon tea at Fortnum & Masons a really special event. Hand made glass, each piece unique. Priceless!

Shedworking – an inspiration

At the moment I am lucky enough to be using a room with a view of Hoad at the Lanternhouse in Ulverston, to escape for peace and writing time. It is my very luxurious equivalent of one these amazing writers sheds described in the landlibrary blog. I have been working through my backlog of work recently and it has been an absolute haven. No shot of the view yet   but I think I shall just for the record.

For the moment though, I saw this rather uncomfortable stone bothy in Gibraltar looking out over the straights which might do the trick. Hope its got a big window looking out over the sea. For the less romantic – its probably really got a gun emplacement in it.

Picking up the tree

Owen and I picked up the tree this week after school in the near dark, after debating, in the car on the way between us, what was the maximum size of tree that would fit in the house and what our budget was, the sweet guy only charged us a 6′ price  for a lovely 7′ tree.
